Playing poker again
I've started playing poker again. I started a couple of months ago by depositing $10 on Poker Stars. I've run it up to just under $400, but my bankroll has dipped to under $200 again since then.
I have numerous leaks that I am trying to plug. The first leak is that I am playing too many different games, especially when I don't really care how I am playing (i.e., not paying attention).
So, I have decided to play one game ($0.50/$1.00 limit hold'em, full ring) until the end of March. I want to see how many hands that I play and I want to figure out my win rate (or loss rate). I plan to keep track of all of my sessions here. I might still play the occasional $5 heads-up SNG, but I am going to try and stick to this one game as much as possible.
Today's session was interesting. I started out getting killed by the cards. I then tightened up (playing fewer hands pre-flop). More importantly, perhaps, is that I started playing tighter post-flop. I was down at least $40 in the first couple of hundred hands, but I made a very nice recovery such that the session was highly profitable.
Session: 563 hands, +$22.23
